What Is Learning At Work Week?

Learning At Work Week is an annual event to discuss and develop learning cultures at work. The event is led nationally by Campaign For Learning.

Employers are encouraged to to mark Learning At Work Week within their organisations, and discuss ways in which learning and development can be achieved within every workplace.

This Year’s Theme: Get Connected

Every year brings a new theme for Learning at Work Week. This year's theme is "Get Connected," which highlights the social aspects of learning at work.

For instance, learning helps us to connect with others through shared experiences, and connect to others across organisations and job roles. Learning can help strengthen organisations, communities and cultures. It can help to break down barriers, change mindsets, and find more effective ways for individuals to work as a team

Every organisation can use learning as a way to connect, engage, and strengthen an organisation's social bonds.

How Can You Make The Most Of Learning At Work Week?

Every organisation is different, however there will be plenty of activities which your workplace can take part in during this Learning At Work Week.

Below are just a few examples of how you can get the most out of Learning At Work Week within your own organisation, and look ahead to a full year of learning and development.

  • Celebrating past learning and development successes within the organisation.
  • Internal competitions which encourage learning new things, or engaging with other departments.
  • Encourage more knowledge sharing activities more within the organisation.
  • Provide opportunities for staff to present or share knowledge or skills through presentations or taster sessions.
  • Discussing staff goals and aspirations to identify key areas of focus for the next year.

  • Workshops or online learning opportunities.
  • Mentoring and coaching schemes.
  • Exploring and discussing opportunities for developing staff into their roles, such as through apprenticeships..

Learning At Work With Dynamic Training

One of the most effective ways of cultivating a culture of learning within a workplace is through providing staff with opportunities to progress and develop into their roles and careers. One of the best ways to achieve this is through apprenticeships, which offer a blend of academic and work-based development which fits into staff's existing roles.

If you would be interested in learning about apprenticeships, you can find out all about them on our website. Our dedicated team are also always available to provide advice and guidance on the value which apprenticeships can bring to your workplace, and help you to make the best decisions for every member of staff.
